Hey, my name is Laura Castagna. I am from Bloomington, Minnesota, which is a suburb of the Twin Cities. I am a freshman here at UW Madison and currently undecided as a major, but hopefully by the end of this year I will have a good idea of what I would like to do. I have one younger brother named David who is almost 17 years old, which makes me the oldest child. When I was younger I played on a club soccer team and danced at a studio, so when I began high school I also joined the soccer and dance team. Other hobbies I enjoy include: watching movies, listening to music, scrapbooking, boating (wake-boarding, wake-skating, water-skiing, and wake-surfing), and going on runs outside. I definitely prefer dogs to cats, and movies to reading. I’m also a big Vikings fan so no matter how much someone tells me the Packers are betting, it has no significance to me.
I enrolled at UW Madison because I fell in love with the campus while touring it last Fall. However, I’m hoping that eventually I will be able to study abroad in Italy and find out more about my family’s past and where I come from. Hopefully this college and meeting all these new friends will help shape me in a positive manner and that joining this FIG will be a good experience and help me academically. See you all in class!
